Out and About with the Quill: Massey College Honours Rod McDonald

On September 22, friends of Rod McDonald, The Alcuin Society of Canada, Canada Type, Massey College and Sheridan College held a reception to honour Canadian typographer and designer Rod McDonald. The event also celebrated the fact that in 2016, he will be honoured with the Robert R. Reid Award and Medal from the Alcuin Society for lifetime achievement and extraordinary contributions to the book arts in Canada.

PQL friend and Devil’s Artisan editor Don McLeod was on hand with his trusty camera to capture the event.

And a wonderful time was had by all. Congratulations to Mr McDonald!

portraitHope you enjoyed today’s photo post. Many thanks to our intrepid photographer Don McLeod for his consistently great photojournalism. Don’t forget to visit the Rogues’ Gallery over at the Devil’s Artisan website to learn more about Rod McDonald and his contribution to Canadian design. (And feel free to explore the biographies of a whole host of other talented designers who have made their mark on the book arts in this country.)
