Upcoming events at the Quill!

Hello Quill fans and friends alike!

First and foremost, allow me to introduce myself. I’m Kate, the new Porcupette. Monique has left the Quill, in pursuit of new opportunities–and believe me, no one misses her more than I. Already cyberspace echoes with her absence. But before we get too teary eyed and woebegone, we have important business to be getting down to!

The Porcupine’s Quill is happy to announce some very exciting upcoming events.

The first is nearly upon us. George Walker’s lecture entitled “Printmaking and the Visual Narrative,” part of the Printmaker/Lecture series, is due to be presented on Friday, September 23 in Waterloo. See here for more information.

Also imminent is the exciting Kingston’s Writer’s Festival! Our very own Laurie Lewis will be in attendance and she is scheduled to present a talk in conjunction with Merrily Weisbord, followed by a book reading with some fellow debut authors on Saturday, September 24. Check it out here.

Also upcoming, and also extremely exciting, is the installation of Sheree-Lee Olson’s Bookmark on Wednesday, October 12 at 10:45 am at Lock 8 on the Welland Canal in Port Colborne. Occasioned by the installation, Ms. Olson has also been asked to be the featured presenter at the prestigious Roselawn Reading Series on Thursday, September 29. Surely an honour worth celebrating! Check out more details about the Bookmark installation here.

There are many more exciting things happening here at the Quill, but I’ll leave it at this for now … Porcupette out!
