Devil’s Artisan share contest

Well Quill friends and fans alike, I have an inkling that you are all dying to know about the next Porcupine’s Quill contest. It’s been a while since our last one, and even I’m itching to start giving away free stuff.

To celebrate the recent installation of share buttons on the website of our serial publication, the Devil’s Artisan, we are offering to give away free copies of DA!! But wait, what ever am I talking about?? Here’s a little background information.

For those of you who don’t know, share buttons are the little icons you can see on our website under the left sidebar. Take a look, go to our home page, take a look at the sidebar to the left, and scan down under “The Devil’s Artisan.” See! There it is! These are pretty handy buttons, great for sharing information with your friends. If you click on it, myriad social media sharing options are listed for you, and you can scroll down and find the one that suits you best. If you see something online and you want to tell a friend about it, the share buttons allow you to bypass the cumbersome process of copying the URL, opening a new window for facebook, and pasting the website down in a post. Rather, you just click the share button, select facebook, and you’ve officially shared!
The Devil's Artisan
But, hold on, what’s the Devil’s Artisan?? Silly Quill fans! The Devil’s Artisan is PQL’s serial publication. We publish twice a year, spring and fall, on interesting topics and people in Canadian publishing. But of course, the Devil’s Artisan covers the world of CanLit in a way that only PQL can. Topics focus on the art of book publishing, and people featured include the giants of the Canadian publishing scene. Our most recent issue (noted by Drawn and Quarterly!) features a fascinating article by graphic artist Seth, discussing and searching for a Personal Canadian Vernacular Design Style.

So what do you have to do to get your hands on your very our copy of this beautiful magazine?

Well, it’s simple.

Go to the Devil’s Artisan website here and select either the current or a previous issue, located in the sidebar to the left. Find the share button (now you know how!) and give it a click. Share an issue, any issue, on twitter, being sure to use the hashtag below so that I can find it.

#DevilsArtisanGiveaway

I’ll take all the names of people who share and draw three winners at random when the contest closes. We’ll be giving away copies of the most recent issue; however, if you already own it we are happy to offer you a copy of the forthcoming issue, due later this year.

You have until midnight on Friday, so start sharing!

Best of luck, friends … Porcupette out!
